How to get there?

Gammon Cruise will depart from the Port of Piraeus on May 9th, 2026, at 17:00.
We kindly recommend arriving at the port well in advance to allow sufficient time for check-in and boarding procedures. Further details regarding the exact terminal and embarkation instructions will be shared closer to the departure date.

The main options to travel from Athens Airport (ATH) to Piraeus Port (rates are based on July 2025 and may change).

1. X96 AIRPORT EXPRESS BUS
Time: ~ 90 min
Frequency: Every 20-40 min
Price: 6€
Pros: Cheapest, direct to port
Cons: Slower, traffic-dependent, luggage handling

2. METRO (LINE 3 + LINE 1)
Time: ~ 60-85 min (transfer at Monastiraki)
Frequency: Every ~ 30-36 min
Price: €9-10 for one-way from airport;
Pros: Reliable schedule, avoids road traffic
Cons: May involve walking with luggage and transferring

3. SUBURBAN RAILWAY (PROASTIAKOS, LINE A1)
Time: ~ 1 hr (hourly service)
Frequency: About once every hour from ~ 06:00-22:00
Price: ~ €9/one-way
Pros: Direct to Piraeus station
Cons: Limited schedules, not 24/7

4. TAXI (OFFICIAL AIRPORT TAXIS)
Time: 45-75 min depending on traffic
Day rate (05:00-24:00): €54-60 flat
Night rate (00:00-05:00): €70-75
Pros: Convenient door-to-door, 24/7 availability
Cons: Most expensive, risk of overcharging

Important Notes

• WBGF Tournament Rules set will be the main guideline of the rules applied and any additional rules will be posted on the notice board prior to the start of the whole event. https://www.wbfturkey.com/doc/Tournament_Rules_WBGF.pdf
• Players who have recent Intermediates winner titles, or a BMAB rank- ing of “M” or better, or a recognized PR of 6,5 or below are NOT allowed to participate in Intermediates flight in principle, to be checked with the event director during registration phase. If a player who cashes in Inter- mediates is noticed as meeting one of these criteria, 30% of official prize is cut and distributed as a compensation to his & her opponents.
• The Tournament Director reserves the right to require the use of clocks in any round of any category.
• The draw is manual (not computerised), public and random.

• Tournament matches take precedence over all other forms of play.
• Only cash payments are accepted.
• The Tournament Committee reserves the right to refuse applications to play without giving any reasons, since the event is by OPAX invitation only.
• Should a player wish to leave the playing area during the tournament, he/she must inform the Tournament Director. Failure to do so may result in penalty points being assigned.
• The daily break for dinner is between 20:00 and 21:00.
• Smoking is not permitted in the event venue other than in designated areas.
• The tournament will be played on professional Tournament Boards. Our boards are regularly cleaned and disinfected.
• Dice service is provided by organization.
• All players are expected to be dressed appropriately.
